Personally I couldn't turn up for work and do a good job knowing I'm being shafted on rate. Just take out a bounce back loan, enjoy the summer off, work on the plan B, learn something new and put yourself in a position to capitalise on the market when it recovers. In short, don't take it up the arse.

There is no shame in that.

The plan of the poster above is exactly what I am going to do, however.

Those days are coming back with a vengence and extra tax on the top.

I've done it now, accepted a permie role at a salary I would have laughed at 6 months ago. I'm still in shock, literally don't know what to do with myself.
Financially survive. That's what you're going to do, so well done you.

At the moment do what you need to as we are in the middle of a once in a generation event. Not to be confused with the previous once in a generation event 12 years ago.

This is a once in a lifetime event. Hopefully.

Could be a good start of a zombie movie. Imagine the virus stays in the brain of the people infected and "cured", and slowly eats brain cells responsible for the sense of private property and personal freedoms, then gradually makes people want to eat other people alive while at the same time they go live in each other houses and just take whatever cars are available on the street.

I prefer the dull Gricer sockie theory, but that works too.
