Someone asked why I had not seemed to have made it my job to find a contract, well TBH it is so I don't get too stressed or worried about something I have no control over.

I use my usually strategy which is to spend the morning looking, then cycle/run (~2hrs) followed by gym in the evening (~1hr).

Otherwise I could be driving myself nuts looking for something which is simply not there.

I have enough self assurance to know that I have the required skills, experience and education to learn and do most things in software development.

I also find that looking and interviewing for roles when things are very short, means I could be giving off a 'desperate' or 'needy' look, which always ends in a negative response.

(quick calculation shows that if it was doing 54 RPM the rim would be travelling at the speed of sound).

No idea. It's the same model (Dogma F) they use in the TDF (Tour De France), however mine does not seem to go as fast so is clearly faulty

Just got back from the gym, feeling strong. Ready for another load rejections tomorrow morning.

I have had no interviews in March nor April so far. So much for the financial year, uplift. I suspect a lot of companies have reduced their budgets and contractors are not on anyone's list.

ok, but I was referring to the London Eye in your photo, not your bike

Keep up the good work at the gym though!

I need to pick back up at the gym and on sports now that, dare I say it, my catalogue of injuries the last 2 years appear to have subsided.

              Make Oliverson Great Again!

I'm going to need a strong mind and strong body as I emerge from a disastrous early retirement attempt. Emerge from it like a butterfly from a chrysalis!

With respect it's not you that you have to convince.

Two years without a gig would suggest potential clients feel otherwise.

I do wonder how long this contracting malarky is left (22 years now) however I started following tech contracts online and Contract Spy on LI and if there is any positive I see a lot more gigs that are outside IR35 than inside.

Unfortunately it is all BAs, TAs, Test Managers, Delivery Leads, etc. The world does not wish to use SQL Server anymore however I blame MS a lot for that with how poor SQL 2022 is. And no one gives a non-clustered index about version 2025 coming out.

Anywho we remain upbeat though. I get the exercise thing from Schumi, I run and go to the gym just so I can do some gardening, it is bloody knackering. However I now have around a ton of home made compost.

I am off to sow my veg (not a euphemism, I have the salad pots, peas, carrots and broccoli to get in the veg beds).

                    Have a good weekend.

He had a negative bluety on a quackhandle and was quadraspazzed on a lifeglug.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

Not heard of 'Contract Spy' before. It's not yours is it? Lol.

                      £ 250 a year. Err, no thanks.
