A bit of career advice needed here... as a contractor web developer with around 20 years experience, from freelance to nowadays mostly corporate/gov work, I'm thinking of moving over to business analysis. Question is has anyone here done the same thing? Did you enjoy the move? I'm thinking of taking the fast track BCS Business Analysis Diploma course and see what happens, would that be good idea? Are there any other courses anyone can recommend?

The path is very simple:
Contract web developer -> Perm BA -> Contract Ba
Expect at least 5 years as a perm BA.The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment

Like it or not, perception of Freelance Web Developers is that they are working on PPH or Fiverr.Comment

Well, if I hear you correctly--and I think that I do--my advice to you is to finish your meal, pay your check, leave here, and never mention this to anyone again.
or failing do as the others have suggested, go the perm route to pick up some experience.Comment

The switch?, it can't be done?
There's no schadenfreude, you need experience though, whether it's 5 years or 5 months is another matter.Comment
