Like the majority of people i've spoken to, and probably in the IT world in general, people stay in their roles until something happens. Looks like a case of lets see what happens!

There's no schadenfreude, you need experience though, whether it's 5 years or 5 months is another matter.

Contract web developer -> Perm BA -> Contract Ba

Expect at least 5 years as a perm BA.

I am struggling to find a field where it would be of interest to hire a Contract web developer and invest in their exposure to the business before even factoring in formal training, which is just a rubber stamp.

Maybe web developer -> Customer Self Management SA -> BA

Like it or not, perception of Freelance Web Developers is that they are working on PPH or Fiverr.

Apart from the obvious (changing career is difficult, you'll likely have to take a step down in pay), how can anyone else really help you?

How are you going to get gigs with no experience and only a fast track qualification?

It has been asked by a few people so maybe some of the other threads have similar situation to yours...

A bit of career advice needed here... as a contractor web developer with around 20 years experience, from freelance to nowadays mostly corporate/gov work, I'm thinking of moving over to business analysis. Question is has anyone here done the same thing? Did you enjoy the move? I'm thinking of taking the fast track BCS Business Analysis Diploma course and see what happens, would that be good idea? Are there any other courses anyone can recommend?
