    Sagacity... Ever heard of them?

Been offered an interview for a role in brum working for this consultancy. Seem like a small company but wondered if anybody has any experience of working with/for them?

Rate and role seems decent enough but never heard of the company. Ta!

They are fully legit. They have idiosyncracies that many small consultancies do but the guys I worked with were treated fine.

Just remember they will be charging the end client double your rate (as most do) and that you will almost certainly be within ir35 for the gig.

That was going to be my next thought. Inside IR35 is a concern. I'll need to have a serious look a the contract etc as I'm not sure I want to be running any risks around that. Thanks.

        <wit>Thought Sagacity was a nickname for Eastbourne.</wit>

They do a lot of work in the Telco space.

See them in telco land. Their high margins set high expectations to end client who will want the skin off your back.

Interesting, this is for standard senior BA stuff within in a restaurant chain. I'll sound them out and see if it's worth it.

As in you get £400, they charge you out at £1800?

I'd imagine they have clients in other sectors - they have their own DQ product from what I recall.

The contract BAs were on £400/day. Sagacity were on £800. Standard consultancy mark up. However, they were regarded as expensive as the guys were alongside other contract BAs working for the client at 400 so the Sagacity guys didn't stay long.

At one point they insisted that the contractors changed their linkedin profile to show their client as Sagacity rather than the end end client, hence my ir35 comment.

Interesting. I'm meeting with them today but insisted on 475 to make it worth my while as I would be having to stay over in brum all week. I did see on LinkedIn a tonne of profiles using sagacity as their main employer. I won't be changing mine under any circumstances. I'll meet and get a feel for them but if it doesn't feel right I won't progress it. They said if I am successful I would start Monday on site with the client which I am very wary of. Where's the contract going to come from in that time for a start? I'm not stepping foot in there without that.

Excellent approach!! Perfect way to deal with a gig like this. You can get a QDOS review in less than a day if they do have a template already drawn up and can get it to you almost immediately. So although pretty unlikely it could be possible to be on site on Monday with a reviewed contract. That's on the assumption it passes of course.

With respect to Saga being more expensive than the other non consultancy contractors on site. Of course they are, two completely different models. If Saga are not offering the full service that comes with the mark up then it's the client that's got their strategy wrong, not Saga that are too expensive.
