        Since a load of posters come on here complaining about the contract they have signed but not read, do you think every contractor runs their business the same?

        So "how you run your business" means everything from how you sell your skills as some contractors go direct, up to contract negotiation. You cannot do the latter if you don't read and understand the contract including the laws that govern it.

        If you were permie you have lots of statutory protections that cover you so not reading and understanding your contract of employment won't leave you in a mess.

        I hope I've made it easier for you to understand a "vague" term.
