Your job is a contractor. The crap you do at a client is the easy stuff. You are a business selling skills you already have and knowing all the legislation around how you get that business. The skills of a good contractor is knowing about being a contractor not a coder. Permies can do that. Anyone that thinks contracting is just doing what the client wants is a disguised permie.

Not everyone is a disguised permie. Some of us know what RoS and MoO are let alone what the acronym is. I respect you balls for having a go. You've got the making of a good contractor. You are on a forum of people that are trying to understand are interested which makes up a fairly small minority so fair play to you. Don't take it personally. You've done better than most.

Is it to be a real big boy, untouchable by Dave and George's investigative cronies, honest to goodness contractor, you need to spend majority of the business day, and evenings and weekends too by the looks of things, posting on Internet forums unmasking all the employees instead of providing the service your company has been procured to provide? It'd really help all of us tryers who aspire to be at the top table where you feast sir if you could spare us just an insight into how a real, bonafide, contractor operates, again aside from the obvious acronyms etc...

I thought I'd done that when in pointed out that contracting is about how you run your business and not what you do sitting at the the clients desk. Don't say I didn't try.

In other words exactly the same as the rest of the contractors out there gigging. Can you not think of anything vaguer than "how you run your business"?

You are the same as the rest of us, the only difference pal is you think your different whereas 99% of the contracting/service providing community know we are all feeding from the same trough so try not being such a jumped up, self righteous, arse clown in future and just carry on carrying on. And maybe instead of insinuating that every chap/chapess who posts on here is a phoney, perhaps you could put your pompous response in the drawer and offer constructive replies.
