Hi CUK, first time caller needing assistance...
I've secured an ongoing contract directly with a company in the EU (non-UK). I will be working entirely remotely given I don't reside there and am not required to visit the site. I'm thinking of upping sticks and moving to the Isle of Man and working from there. This brings up two questions for me:
1. Would I need an Isle of Man work permit to work remotely for a company not based on the Island. (I have the right of abode - just not the work permit).
2. Would I be able to pay my taxes through the IOM tax system? I will be working self-employed and running everything through personal taxation.
I haven't worked in a few years (intentional, partner was the breadwinner), and the last place I paid tax was in Asia when I lived / worked there for a few years.
Any advice gratefully received - especially for other options I might consider.
p.s I'm in no fear of losing the contract.
