Very nasty underhand tactic using a trivial excuse to get rid of you, of course you haven't done anything wrong, unfortunately legally hard to fight. This tactic is on the rise and is increasingly being used to sack unwanted staff. I've seen some TV programmes on this, an idea that I believe originates from the US and has been exported to Europe.
In this particular case I would move on and forget. Just make sure you get paid for the time you worked.

They did this on NHS Spine project with BT, saw one bloke go just cos he 'used a BT phone for personal use' when on any given early evening almost all the Mastek guys where on the BT phones to their mothers in India....
I'm still owed around 3 weeks wages so I'm trying to keep things civil as this is due roughly around the 10th of this month.
Being paid while suspended for the past 2 weeks in limbo would be a bonus but it looks like I'm going to have to forget about that.
My primary concern is future references and I would very much like major IT company to withdraw these false comments made to the agency.
The general consensus to be to move on and forget about it?
3 week or work or suspension? If its work and you've got timesheets signed then you could be ok. If its suspension time forget it.
As for the reasons etc, sounds like client decided they wanted you gone earlier, wanted to save a few quid, and made up this suspension crap. It happens. I've had it done to me. Don't take it personally. And never underestimate a companies ability to treat you like tulipe if it suits them.
References - dont worry. No-one gives them these days anyway. Once you're gone client will be happy, and will forget about you, and not want to hear from you again, and certainly wont want to stir it all up by bad mouthing you
Doesn't sound like an FTC as he mentions LTD and invoicing the OP does need to understand he is not employed. If he did he would be able to work out he has no 'rights'.
Bad gig. It happens. Move on.
