Companies of all sizes go bust - remember Enron and Lehman Brothers? I've met contractors and former contractors stung by them.
You need to inform your clients that they need to pay on time. You don't allow them to get into the habit of paying you late because they can.
Two weeks would be max for me.

No one is too big to fail, these days you should give up as little credit as possible.

At 11 weeks I'd highly question whether or not you're going to be paid at all and would be downing tools. It takes them no time at all to sign timesheets and it's pretty much the only part of the relationship they need to manage.
If I were you, tomorrow morning I'd be printing them out, putting them in front of the appopriate person and glare until they sign. Have they paid you at all until renewnal.

Just saying like. I've seen some right crooked f@ckers over the years who would do this sort of thing. Some clients/employers will do ANYTHING to get what they want and/or save money.
(Got some good stories about redundancy at one place I worked - they went around and dug dirt on everyone - all total crap - and then tried to sack them so they didnt have follow redundancy process/pay out. Didn't work but they tried!)Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

I've already chased this morning, and will do so again soon if they haven't been approved.
In general Client Co are just very very slack with this kind of thing, my contract was up for a week before it was renewed, others have had the same issue with contract been up before it's been renewed. They have never screwed anyone over that I'm aware of, just slack in how they handle things. I suspect they will stay that way until they get burned by someone who rightfully walks out when their contract expires and nothing is already in place.
I really don't think this is part of some masterplan to push me out, far from it, I'm pretty sure they want me to stay, at least until they are ready for me to go.Comment
