    Accountants - Crunch or intouch?

    Hi all,
Looking through past posts the 2 accountants above seem to be what I am looking for as a noob.
However Crunch is half price of intouch.
Anyone have any recent experience of them and would recommend one over the other?
    Many thanks for any replies.

Oh they both post on here, you are going to start a war asking us to recommend lol...

TheFaQQer is a respected poster on here and he always recommends InTouch. Tell them he sent you if you decide to go with them.

Personally I'd say have a look at Gorilla Acccounting who are run by an ex-SJD'er. Bit cheaper, use freeagent and seem to be doing the job perfectly so far.... but that's not what you asked I guess.

There is plenty of discussion about Crunch's online service, this thread goes in to it a little as well and makes the point to ask about SA inclusion as well..

There are more if you search around.

      This ^^

I'm with Intouch and the service is brilliant, I know a contractor here who uses crunch and doesn't get half the information that I get about IR35, T&S etc

Just to add you are comparing apples and pears with these two. They are not the same offering as you can see from the links. Even if Crunch is good I'm not sure it's the service you need as a noob.

Top replies all - think I know which way I am going to go. The bit about noob and way to go swung it.

When I moved from my last accountant, I looked at InTouch, NW and a few others and chose InTouch.

Every so often, I look to see if there is a better service that I could be getting, and even considered doing my own accounts. I've looked at Crunch at one stage, and played around on the portal - but I just couldn't get it to work for me in the way I needed it to. That might have been a demo portal limitation, or it may have been me - but either way it didn't work for me, so I gave up.

InTouch have a lot of benefits as well, that as a newbie you would / could probably use - give them a ring and tell Louisa that I sent you their way

I am with crunch for the last 4 years. Their service is top-notch. I get same day or next day reply to my email and you can always call and talk to them. For 70 quid its a bargain compared to the competition.

Crunch have been brilliant for me as a dyed in the wool contractor. It will be a steep learning curve for a newbie but it's great value for money.

Crunch for the last 5 years.

                  Works well for my needs.

I've used Crunch from noob and had no problems. They have been able to answer every question I have asked of them. I particularly like their web interface and iPhone apps that make it easy to submit expenses.
