There are also clients who want the perfect fit for the poor rate they are paying. They waste agents time by interviewing multiple people badly.
It's actually interesting hearing the other side of the recruitment process but it doesn't help in IT recruitment the majority of UK agencies are just sales people who have absolutely no understanding of contracts, technology etc.

6 MONTHS later client phoned agent and wants to interview two of the candidates and can they start monday. Turned out none of the original batch were available any more (surprise surprise!) and client was well put out!Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

Yes, interviews are very much a "fire and forget" situation. You do the interview and then you move on to the next role of interest until you have an offer and a signed contract.Comment
