Am really not seeing anything that could be deemed as 'too good to be true' here. More like a case of trying to dodge a bullet.

My limit for dumping a contract at this stage was the request of a 4th interview.
The agent wasn't happy but I pointed out that if they couldn't decide after 3 interviews, I definitely could."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

OP, it looks like you want to do it despite all the warnings, probably just to get that 'I'm a contractor' pin on your chest. You want adventure, and there you will get some. A bit silly and rushed into IMO, but fair enough. Think about your finances though. You have mentioned you're in a poorly paid permie role now, would taking this gig mean you have to leave, or could you do it in the evenings / weekends? If you have to leave, what are your prospects of landing another job, if the contract falls through? Do you have a warchest big enough to cover for 3 months without any income? Good thing it's summer, so your gas bill will not come to kill you straight away...Comment
