If more contractors acted like contractors we wouldn't have half the issues with perception that we do.
I update my LinkedIn profile to say I'm looking for new contracts when there's less than 4 weeks to go on a current contract if I haven't heard anything from Client or Agency. I find it helps to focus their minds on the job at handComment

Your best bet (if you're an IPSE member) is to spend a couple of hours on their webinars when they next do one for LinkedIn writing and CV writing.
