    Rotary / Masons Benefits

Anyone in the rotary or masons?

Had an invite for one of them, and wondering what others experiences are, good way to contribute to local worthy causes? Good networking opportunities? Or just a bunch of geezers blowing hot air?
Politicians are wonderfull people, as long as they stay away from things they don't understand, like working for a living!

All of the above and it was great fun.
I am not one but I used to participate in some of their stuff, won stuff and was invited to a few of their dinners.

Isn't Churchill involved with one of them? Masons possibly?

If that doesn't convince you to stay away, nothing will.

A group of people who've all joined up to gain benefit from being members. A bunch of members trying to sell to each other.

...and the Orange Order, The Hibernians, James Connolly Society, etc. He is one crazy, mixed-up kid supporting republicans and unionists at the same time

Even after all that, he still has no friends

I was once asked if I might be interested in joining the Masons, but when I found out that you had to profess a belief in a superior supernatural being I declined. They must be a bunch of nutters, with worryingly high influence, but a bunch of nutters.
I'm not even an atheist so much as I am an antitheist; I not only maintain that all religions are versions of the same untruth, but I hold that the influence of churches, and the effect of religious belief, is positively harmful. [Christopher Hitchens]
