Thanks everyone, just confirms my gut feeling.

He is the Kim Jong Un of the company, complete dictatorship with everyone scrabbling around to please him and not doing their work. Every meeting is run to placate his whim. I am hired by him as a contractor, along with a host of others, who all feel the same.

Everyone says wall - I say make him walk. Don't just key his car - set fire to it.

To be fair it could set you in a good light to bin it and walk off. When he is finally removed for one reason or another they might remember you as the one person that did what everyone else wanted to but daren't. Could earn a bit of respect that pays in the long run? Unlikely but you get my point?

I don't see where the issue is to be honest.

If his behaviour is unprofessional then do something about it.

If shouty, say you'll come back later.
If moany, make a list of the moans and address them.
If patronising, hand it off professionally with something like "I'm not entirely ok with your tone, can we try a different approach?"
If small man like, ignore and rise above.

There are always professional antidotes to even the most challenging of characters.

Then you can go home and stab a kitten to vent your frustration.
