    employee benefits package

    Morning,
Just wondering if anyone has or knows about getting an employee benefits package.
Kind of thing that includes insurance cover, gym membership, etc.

My partner gets love to shop vouchers in a salary sacrifice scheme as well as illness benefits, life cover, gym membership, etc.

Was wondering if there is something similar for one man band businesses.
Only ones I can find are for 10 employees+

IPSE has an arrangement with one of the providers of these employee benefits packages and it's available to all members.

Not sure if it covers virgin, but does do david lloyd and pay-as-you-gym - the latter has arrangements with many gyms

What would be the benefit of something like this to a one man company, given you'd be paying tax and NIC on the benefits? Some kind of corporate discount?

You don't get it free, you get the corporate discounts. No BIK.

Well as long as OP is aware of that and doesn't think TheirCo can just pay for it. It will still need to be entered in the P11D with any payments made by OP towards it under amounts made good.

I've looked into something similar before but found things like gym memberships at cheaper rates were only available if you had a certain number of employees.

Or if you were a member of an organisation with thousands of members.

well virgin gym is £52 a month.
I thought if I can go somewhere that gets a discount down to around £32 (ie saving £240 a year)
then I dont mind paying that £240 to somewhere else that includes a bunch of other benefits... so Im getting more for the same price.

Atm my best option is Purdential Life cover for £23 a month Id get £20 discount in membership + a free cinema ticket every week to Vue/Cineworld.
That is for a Personal Life Cover. Its £36 for both myself & partner - so deciding would we use the cinema tickets enough to warrant the extra £13

So got me thinking about other alternatives & my partner mentioned she can get a discount through her works benefit package.

I really looking for a gym that has a swimming pool as well as an arm bike - as I have a knee condition that stops me using treadmills, spinbikes, rowers, cross trainers, etc. So Im limited in what I can use for Cardio

If you have a client with a corporate plan and you can 'prove' you work for them (ID card etc) they'll quite often let you sign up in the gym on that basis. Don't tell HMRC ;-)
