Does it exist a black list for IT contractors?

In that regard, everyone has a blacklist for every interaction they ever have.Originally posted by BolshieBastard View PostA blacklist is still a blacklist whether it is only client company wide, an individual agency \ agent or an individual hiring manager.
I wouldn't touch Talk Talk with a barge pole for my phone or broadband, no matter how cheap their offer is. They're on my blacklist.
There's a bloke up the road I would never go for a pint with because he's a bit of a c***. He's on my blacklist.
Every ex-girlfriend I've ever had will have me on more than one blacklist, I'm sure.
I think the OP was referring to one 'master blacklist' that exists throughout the industry that all agents/ clients have access to, hence the 'where can I find IT' comment.Comment

Just because nobody tells you anything Andy........Originally posted by Andy Hallett View Post100% not. You may piss the odd agent off who might not choose to work with you, but thats about it.

Yes, I know what the OP was referring to. I merely offered other examples when some people said 'there's no blacklist in IT.'I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

Of course there's a blacklist in IT. You can identify them quite easily on Jobserve. As they are the same jobs whether Permanent or Contract that have been running for months & months or even an entire year. In fact they stick out like a sore thumb - as you know there couldn't possibly be a skills shortage for that sort of role, requiring that sort of skillsets. Yet the same job is advertised over & over again on JobServe. Where the same client tries different agencies to no doubt, end up with the same sort of applicants.
You can even second guess who the client is and know they are operating some sort of blacklist. Then you see the same sort of job and role advertised in another part of the country and the job disappears, as normal after a month or so, without it ever being re-advertised again.
Strange but true.Last edited by Tightfit; 23 September 2015, 20:00.Comment

Strange but true.
They're phishing jobs. A blacklist refers to individual's names going on a list and being refused work because they are on that list.
The two are completely different things."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."
