Free iPad / $2000 for every successful candidate placed!!!

I'm getting lots of emails for jobs that have nothing to do with my profession.
But what makes me laugh is when they add at the bottom,

"If know know someone who can do this job I can offer iPad’s or cash of up to £2000 for any successful candidates placed!

Do people really believe this? Has anyone ever got a freebie for an agent ?

A rather nice meal + a few drinks at decent restuarant in Manchester from probably the only decent pimp I've gigged through (2 occasions).

Took a while to get it out of them, mind.

    And a cake.

He had a negative bluety on a quackhandle and was quadraspazzed on a lifeglug.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

Agents are replacing their expensive ex Carphone Warehouse NMW resourcers with contractors who know people. It's cheaper.

I got a calendar several years running from a few agents. I treasured them.

I got a free diary at Xmas of contracting year 1, i.e. 2007.

Since then I have had a couple of coffees.
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.

You've got to wonder, £2k would surely ruin a "reasonable" margin, so what are they planning to make on those positions...
Don't believe it, until you see it!

Simple's, they won't pay it, whose ever heard of anyone getting a referral fee from an agent for introducing a contractor?

When you say "treasured" I assume you mean "binned"?
