Dover let down by the French. Again.

Six passport booths open out of twelve, on the busiest day of the year.

BBC coverage shows queues for the Channel Tunnel!

Times comments blame Brexit... surely there were passport controls before then?

The French have been doing this since 2016....

Because under Tony Blair's government in 1992, we had a referendum to leave...

All gammons blaming the French and saying this has nothing to do with Brexit conveniently forget that before Brexit not every UK passport had to be stamped and scanned and whenever there was a shortage of French staff, they just waived most people through without much checking, seen myself on a few occasions that the French border guard house was empty and the barrier just open..

No need to blame French authorities for the traffic jams in #Dover: that’s an aftermath of #Brexit. We have to run more and longer checks.

The British government rejected few months ago a proposal to double the number of passport booths given to the French Police in Dover.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Nonetheless, only 6 out of their 12 were open.

According to a report in The Times, the French officers travel to the UK via the tunnel, which was experiencing technical difficulties, and so prevented them getting to work on time. I.e not deliberate, just a cock up on all sides.

I read that they prefer to travel by the tunnel and so would rather wait out a delay than get the ferry.

The Port of Dover requested £33ml to upgrade for Brexit; they received only £33k
