BREAKING NEWS: Zac Goldmith elevated to the House of Lords and will remain as Cabinet
No supporter of the House of Lords, our democratic system need reform, but at least his position has been secured by someone the British public did elect, not by those that nobody here or in other EU countries ever had the chance to vote for. Who voted for Juncker?

Indeed.

The Prime Minister has few statutory functions but will usually take the lead on significant matters of state. The Prime Minister has certain prerogatives, for example recommending the appointment of ministers and determining the membership of Cabinet and Cabinet committees. However, in some circumstances the Prime Minister may agree to consult others before exercising
those prerogatives.
The Ministerial Code states: ‘the Prime Minister is responsible for the overall organisation of the Executive and the allocation of functions between Ministers in charge of departments.’

It's the shamelessness of a Government that’s been twatting on about the “corrupt and unelected EU” giving a lifelong peerage on day 4 because their MPs are too tulip to fill all the posts.

I would say if a MP lost their seat it's a clear signal the voters don't want him anymore so it's an insult to the constituents to immediately reinstate this guy as a peer for life.
