They’ve failed for the last 9 years, but still managed to blame every one of their failures on someone else.

I suspect they spent too long watching ambulance chaser adverts “Where there’s blame there’s a claim”. Find someone to blame. Keep repeating they are guilty. Get others to repeat it (whether it’s 100% true, 50% true, or complete Boris). Repeat until it is believed.

The U.K. government from 1970 to 1974 was Conservative.

So I've been contracting for a quarter of a century now and have done very well out of it, mainly because I used the loot to buy property when it was cheap in the 90s/00s. Quite a bit of that time has been spent in Europe, Germany and Switzerland mainly (I remember the glory days of the mid-late 90s, 1st class flights every week with champagne served for breakfast Monday mornings, my own paid-for apartment).

In that period the planes to Europe were full of UK IT specialists going to consult in Europe. There never was a generation in Europe like my generation, the lot who PEEKed and POKEd their Commodore 64s, Spectrums and BBC Bs in the 80s.

But now Europe has another source of good IT specialists: Eastern Europe, who kept the mathematical rigour in their educational systems just as the UK dumbed down.

So a hard Brexit, where the UK becomes a 3rd country, will finish for good UK specialists going to Europe - why would companies go through the red tape required to take on someone from the UK? And vice versa.

And that's where the Brexit benefit comes for dual-nationals: we can simply work in either the UK or EU, with some of our competition removed either way.
Uk specialists who won't or can't become dual nationals will be confined to the UK: in my opinion this glut of oversupply will drive down wages and rates, if IR35 and ICTS haven't already.

Voting Leave was cretinous. What however is even more depressing is how the brexiteers here have persistently ignored all the gobsmacking stupidity of the liars who made up the Brexit Story. Brexiteers all think Boris will get it done. How can they not be shaken to the core by the bizarre narrative of Theresa May boldly setting a deadline (a bigger act of self harm than the referendum itself), ignominiously being flushed down the toilet only for Boris to take the stand and do exactly the same thing?

When we play football, after one team gets to 23 -1 down, there is an adjustment and the superior team swaps a player or two to even things up. If the EU had an ounce of decency they would give us someone vaguely competent and take eg Raab. Just so it's not such an embarrassing bloodbath.

Pretty poor due to, like most of the rest of the Western world, having to bail out the banks, which in turn were on the point of collapsing due to some dodgy instruments created mainly by US traders.
You're one of the reasons why I think IQ tests should be made compulsory before granting a vote.
