the Tories want an election more than Labour and instead of them banging on about the opposition twice turning it down, there is actually an easy option. The Tories can hold a vote of no confidence in their own party and that could cause a GE to be held. There is one slight problem, the election cannot be held before at least the 25th October. Maybe that is what Rees-Mogg was hinting at yesterday when he promised “an exciting announcement”
