Ford are laying off staff all over Europe and converting to Electric cars (a clearly stated objective) their engine & Transmission factories (which won't be needed in Electric cars) are mainly in the UK. Most of the layoffs are therefore going to be in the UK Engine & Transmission factories.

You do realise they are significantly different from oil based ones? The motor is driven by this new thing called electricity there are no injectors or pistons, there is frequently one motor on each corner and the transmission is very short if there as a separate unit at all. In a hybrid the is a transmission its a legacy item needed for conversion.

and its likely that Ford will want to put them in low cost countries in eastern Europe probably with an EU grant like they have for the last few decades.

Yes if they stick with hybrids there will be transmission units & motors but most governments are forcing them to go Electric only.

Can you actually prove if we voted remain the factory would have stayed? Thought not!

Perhaps remain might like to answer the following questions:Why have we suffered industrial decline and closures with production shifting elsewhere in Europe since joining the EEC?
Why do trade in surplus with the rest of the world but have such a huge deficit with the EU?
Why have we ended up importing fish, electricity, steel and much else when we used to self sufficient?
