        This political analyst has it spot on:

        Boris will call a second referendum

        If Bojo becomes PM and it looks like he will, the parliamentary arithmetic is against him, if he wants to remain PM his only chance will be to call for a second referendum and go for broke.

          He has no principles, so one course of action is to betray his grass roots supporters and tack to the centre. But if he is outflanked by Farage on the right, he may double down on the populist / disaster capitalist direction of travel. Oh the suspense.

            Indeed he will be driven by whatever it takes to be PM, this is how he will set his agenda. Bojo would happily send the country into bankruptcy if it would buy him a few extra weeks in Downing Street.
