    Agreed. World-wide steel production has been next to uncompetitive for decades following China's oversupply into the market. It's been continually reported, so it should not have come as a surprise that British steel was on a hiding to nothing.

      Nothing directly to do with Brexit. However, the U.K. has used “the EU” as the convenient whipping boy over the years to blame the demise of the U.K. steel industry while blocking any efforts to protect it.

        UK government reaping what it's sowed, for sure. The vote to leave was the culmination of years and many governments drilling into UK citizens that the EU was a cost and not a benefit to the UK. This has been systematic "not my fault" politics and it's hilarious to see these worms (UK politicians) now whining about the leave vote and claiming that UK parliament is sovereign.

        EDIT. P.S. very sad for UK steel workers though.
