Because remainers are in the majority in parliament, and brexiters aren't - so JRM's piffling is just hot air, it will never happen . If there were a majority of brexiters in parliament, we might have left by now.

One needs to understand the mentality of being a former Etonian student. Eaton have a hard core of thugs and vandals who will vandalise property, smash windows etc for fun. Unlike students from other schools, the Eaton perpetrators will get away by having their parents paying off the victims.
