    Sovereignty can be most inconvenient.

Lets face it "Real" Brexit went out the window when the "yoof" unexpectedly turned out for the 2017 election.

    I'm alright Jack

Alternatively, leaving the EU and joining an EFTA type arrangement would satisfy the outcome of the democratic vote.

        But will EFTA have us?

Parliament are exercising their sovereignty to ensure they have less sovereignty. They need to make the most of this week, they won't be able to overturn much else in the future.

They have us currently. I do agree that EFTA should have been near the top of the list when we started the process, it's not perfect but it's far more palatable than EU membership.

              Do they?

Business Insider seems to think differently:

Jacob Rees-Mogg now admitting that he'll vote for the deal even though it's bad, and once it is agreed that's it for a generation.

Sums up Brexit. It is basically bad.

Gets us out of the EU, with a two-year transition period where we could move formally into EFTA?

May's deal is so similar to EFTA it might as well be. The only difference is that "freedom of movement" will be replaced by "labour mobility". This is nothing more than a cosmetic difference not a great deal different to Switzerland or Norway. The UK will be closely aligned to the EU customs union on goods.
