What is wage inflation/increases like for the rest of the EU27? Greece is a special (basket) case, so what’s the real reason that the U.K. stands alone at the bottom of the list?

Apparently, the theory is that if there are fewer workers, then wages will rise.

We often hear that there is a shortage of NHS nurses, but we don’t often hear about the dreadful shortage of NHS managers. That can be the only explanation for the difference in wage parity and the above-inflation rises that NHS managers get, according to the OP.

That’s a theory. It’s called supply and demand.
To work as per the theory it assumes certain conditions.
- a perfect market (that’s a specific definition, not hyperbole)
- unlimited supply potential
- reducing marginal cost of supply as the volume increases
- isolated from all other markets

As none of those conditions are true for a labour market, the theory doesn’t work.

Caveat: my economics studies are 30 years old.

I am still against Brexit and always will be.

Majority of those pro Brexit will be worse off, but probably will never be able to admit they were taken for a ride by the likes of Farage and Boris

Well, food and other staples will rise in price as sterling collapses further, so probably most CUK posters will have larger bank accounts, but won't be better off.
