The report is clearly London based as the first two items highlighted with threatened supply were lettuce and tomatoes.
I could sense the whole north of England shrugging it’s shoulders.
    Their ferrets would starve...

*no, I have no idea if ferrets are vegetarians or not.

I have taken precautions regarding the yellow weather warning issued by the met office for today. I have put a jumper on over my short sleeved shirt.

But I guess we would never trade directly with any country in the EU on different terms than any other country in the EU - I assume that's how it is supposed to work anyway?

But either way the point is the amount of 'paperwork' required to get the job done does not really seem to change.
OK, let's try again. You seem obsessed with duty payments, etc. while happily ignoring import/export paperwork. The current for is a C88, which needs filling out per shipment. Under current EU regulations, the same layout of form is used by all EU countries for import & export outside the EU. This makes it easier for businesses importing and exporting as they only need to fill in one standard form for each shipment, irrespective of destination. This paperwork is not needed for shipments within the EU of EU produced products.
Currently, around 50% of UK trade in goods is with the EU. That is done without the need to fill in a C88 per shipment.

The good news is that for unregulated goods, the C88 is all you need.
When you have regulated goods (e.g. medical, but also anything that has a standard involved in, whether that is safety. manufacturing, etc), then the relevant paperwork needs to be supplied per item to prove it meets the regulatory standard as well as the C88. The good thing with those is that you don't have to get permission on each consignment, just for each item.
We've discussed standards on here a few times before. You might want to read some of those old threads.
