I am a registered voter in the UK. If you don't like it, tough luck - those are the rules of British parliamentary democracy. -
The EU is the lawyer trying to make sure family stability is maintained after the divorce. Kids are looked after and that sort of thing.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostIf it's a divorce, is the EU the spouse or the marriage?Comment

Angela Merkel says 'nein' to Theresa May's calls for early deal on rights of EU migrants and British ex-pats
Angela Merkel and Donald Tusk on Tuesday united to block Theresa May's attempt to fast-track a deal which would have created an amnesty for British ex-pats and EU migrants in the UK post-Brexit.Mrs May had proposed that EU workers currently living in the UK be allowed to remain in exchange for an agreement which gives British expats in the European Union the same rights.
She had hoped to announce a deal within weeks but while more than 20 EU nations have signalled they are prepared to agree to a reciprocal arrangement, Mrs Merkel has rebuffed Mrs May's attempts to come to an agreement.

Two years on and you’re still too stupid to understand that there is/was no negotiation with Merkel, or that “Germany” is not the EU.
This was never in Merkel or Tusk’s remit to agree on their own. Barnier is the appointed negotiator.Comment

So in summary, the EU are reluctant to rubber stamp any deal that obliges them to keep custody of the likes of scoots and darmy.
Talk about playing hardball!!!

A lot furking worse off, that's where.
And who, in their right mind, gets divorced if they're only 52% sure? Might as well toss a coin for it.

So will the UK get re-married? If so, who to?
I quite like the French who know how to protest properly. Or the Germans who are efficient and organized.
Columbia might be nice if they will send us large quantities of marching powder.Comment
