The economy doesn't rank anywhere. Leaving the 'corrupt' EU is a narrative that has come about since the vote as a distraction, it was not a top reason for voting out at the time.

Keep peddling those lies though, I'm sure you believe them but no one else does (well, apart from your fellow xenophobic gammons).

    You're welcome.
Do you not think that your statement above reflects where the remain campaign got it wrong.

All you have stated above is that many people and many differing reasons for wanting the leave the EU. By suggesting many reasons for wanting to leave the EU the Leave campaign could appeal to many people. What did the remain campaign offer as a counter offensive. Lets not change anything and keep everything as it is. This was their mistake. People wanted change, those leading the remain campaign failed to recognise this and they lost.

Please don't bleat on about the lies told by the leave campaign because we all know that lies and half truths were told by both sides and it is a very tiresome and weak argument.

The mistake made by the remain campaign was to focus on the economy. The focus was on the need to keep the economy strong to ensure we keep cash flowing to pay for vital social services. problem was, the leave voters didn't see the economy as important (there is plenty academic research confirming this).

The leave campaign listened to the fears on voters and played on those fears. They campaigned in a way not seen before (but copied by Trump to the same success). Playing on peoples fears, even lies can seem truthful (side of a bus anyone?!?).

Leave ran a clever if untruthful campaign. Remain were naive thinking logic would prevail. Interestingly the Tories didn't learn and made the same mistakes in the GE a year later.

If you're happy voting for lies, and even though you now know they are lies you still support this, then fine. That's your problem not mine.

Whatever happens now will happen, but if you're happy letting this shower of Tories negotiate your future and you think they have your best interests at heart then you are delusional. The Tories only care for their donors and friends, they don't care for us normal people.

The UK gets what it deserves now.

Your view seems to be that we should have stayed in the EU and jolly well done what we were told.

And when you put it like that it is not very appealing is it.

So who do you think is suitably unbiased enough to negotiate an exit from the EU? If not the elected government of the UK who?

This is another lie ... we don't have to do what we are told. We set the rules, we have vetoes, we are not the victims in the EU. We're a leading voice. So yes, I would rather be in the bus driving the direction of travel, rather tha be a passenger being driven by others which is what will happen to us once we're out. Just depends who drives the bus once we leave : Russia, US, China, India, EU ....? You think we don't have control now, you just wait until we're little england again

We set the rules - as long as 27 other people agree with us.

Of which all 27 will have differing agendas, secret alliances and generally anything else spiv politicians will dream up to stay on the gravy train.

But to continue your analogy we were not driving the bus - we were not even the naughty kids on the back seat

We were the snivelling fool a few seats away from the teacher because the teacher refused to sit near us.

And nobody sat next to us

But everyone wanted some of our crisps.

Really? So having one of the only 4 vetoes and one of the largest EU populations that gives us a 13% influence in votes, means nothing? We may not win every vote, but we do win 90% of votes. Angela has nothing to do with it ... this is another brexit lie, that Germany and France control the EU. FFS, you gammons really are dim.

You have absolutely no idea how the EU voting and rule making works do you? Apart from the lies you read in the daily Fail and Express, do you do any of your own reading to find out how the EU works?

Voting is now based on population size, as as one the largest populations in the EU we have 13% of the voting in the EU. We don't need 27 other countries to agree with us; for some votes and laws we only need 3 other countries to agree with us (so long as the votes, based on population is large enough).
