Yes, and remaining in the EU was one of the reasons they stayed. Now they're on their way out anyway, there's nothing to lose by going independent. (Or at least, not that perceived benefit).

You mean "apart from the enormous subsidies provided (mostly) by the English taxpayers?". I'll admit to being quite surprised Wales voted to leave and Scotland voted to remain, if anything it should have been the other way round. The Scots have had their fishing industry massacred by the EU, whereas the Welsh have Aero and motor industries which depend on good trading relations with the EU. Perhaps it's a case of the Scots "would rather be ruled by the EU than the bastard English bastards." If that's true, Nicola Krankie can't lose, surely...

Your unproven theory is that the Scottish voted to remain in the UK mainly because that meant they could stay in the EU? Now we are leaving the EU then Scotland will leave the Union.

If that is so why when the Brexit Vote was already promised did that not factor in their plans?
Why did King Alex & Wee Burney not arrange a deal with the EU to become members if they voted out?
Why didn't leaving the EU factor heavily in the canvassing for the independence vote?
