The CAP is to pay for land owning it does little for sheep farming. Obviously the LSE are cretins as well.

It would be hard to make a new British agricultural policy worse than the CAP, short of reverting to the subsidising production directly, which created the notorious wine lakes and butter mountains of the past.

There are several options for reform because of Brexit. Discounting reverting to more of the same, the first option is to shift some of the subsidy from paying to own land towards more spending on the environment – i.e. shifting the balance from Pillar I to Pillar II.

I hate to break it to you, but having the CAP removed and not replaced by U.K. government funding is one of the things the Brexit-supporting farmers are complaining about.

It shouldn’t really be our problem, and we shouldn’t really care - Brexiters are the ones that lied to them, and the farmers (generally) supported Brexit, so in software terms they’re eating their own dog food.

I find it really odd though that despite all the bluster it seems to be Remainers that care about the country, while the stock answer from Brexiters is “f*ck them, they should be more efficient anyway”

How about not bothering to export their Lamb and simply selling them locally? No need to worry about tariffs or expensive shipping costs either. Simples.
