Asking different groups of people will get you different answers.
Those who liberated Europe from the Axis powers will no doubt have a difference of opinion, as would 'kippers, a bunch of right-on students, etc.
Hmmm. Perhaps we should have a 2nd referendum in which we ask the people of France if we, the UK, should leave the EU. Then it would be settled once and for all.
The Will of 52% of the people was to leave the EU.
In the 26 months since the vote, it is still unclear to the politicians and voters what "leave the EU" means.
When you ask the less intelligent on here, they'll tell you it means to leave the EU and everything to do with it. When you mention OpenSkies, the Irish Border, regulator bodies, etc, they say that these are not really issues, they will be sorted out easily, insert a few smilies, blame the EU and change the subject.

What are you on about? I was talking about British people who fought in the war you oddball.

52% of the voters voted for 1000 different variations of 'Brexit', whilst 48% of the voters all voted for the same thing, to stay in the EU.
The majority of the 52% will never be happy as they will not get their version of Brexit. The 48% will never be happy and will blame the 52% for ruining this country.
End result, whatever 'Brexit' is enacted, the majority of the country will not be happy.
Even BoJo, JRM and Davies can't agree on what Brexit should look like. And given Fox and Raab support May's Brexit plan they clearly are also at odds with their Brexit brethren. If the leaders of Brexit cannot agree what 'Brexit' looks like how can/could they ever convince the public? Idiots leading idiots.
Correct, it was a vote for a departure, not a vote for a destination.
But it is apparently a betrayal of democracy if we were to vote on the final destination.
Surely the best solution is for the government to negotiate a future close relationship with the EU (perhaps Efta/EEA?), and then hold a referendum on that - the negotiated future relationship or 'no deal'. That way, the country gets to tell the government whether we want 'hard' or 'soft' Brexit, and the real will of the people can be established. Of course this is unacceptable to UltraBrexiters worried that democracy may end up delivering a different Brexit to the one that they want.
In many ways, we're like those migrants on ropey boats trying to reach Europe from Africa. Sure, they migrants want the boat to leave, they don't care where they end up as long as they have left, and there's a decent chance it'll sink in the middle of the sea.

It was a sham referendum. Almost every other county would not have a referendum based on a simple majority. Furthermore, expats were excluded. Even Iran lets expats vote!

Strange enough Irish and commonwealth citizen living in the UK even on a temporary work visa for 6 months were allowed to vote in the referendum. EU citizen living and paying tax in the UK for many years (normally allowed to vote in UK local and European elections) were not
