I would say that many do eat pork.
    How can you presume that?

Some people don't eat pork in hot countries due to the risk of worms and parasites in it - nothing to do with religion.

That's put forward as an explanation for bans on pork in Judaism and Islam. However, in Thailand, Laos and Vietnam pork is very popular. So I think it is due to religion.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

So no more lederhosen, lager and sausage - that's culture and therefore intolerant.

I think -as a cultural attitude- it has close ties to 'the cult of tradition' and is therefore virtually defacto fascist in it's basic outlook.

Taking pride in some mythical past (which never was in the first place) is fertile ground for all authoritarian movements.

Lederhosen, lager and sausage = smacks of the birthplace of National Socialism....hmm?

The 5 times a day brigade, who's clearest State exponent is Saudi Arabia.....not exactly a hive of liberalism.

If you're going to take pride in your cultural heritage, you have to also factor in uncomfortable things like Jimmy Saville & friends; they were cultural products just like Shakespeare, scones and cricket. If you take pride in a subset of culture which only has elements that reinforce your own romantic idealization of your own culture, you're really no different to the Nazis or the Hippies, or any other group...take you pick really.

          Don't shoot me!

Ive heard a theory that it’s because pork tastes a lot like human.
But as you say it’s only religions that ban it outright.

There’s no problem whatsoever with wanting to retain the culture of the country you were born in. I wasn’t born here and I’d love to see England, Wales, and Scotland retain their unique cultures.

The problem, dopey, is in conflating this with what Generation Identity want which is an ethnic cleansing of Europe.

What part of “white supremacism” are you finding hard to understand?

England has a traditional culture of tolerance and welcoming incomers. That is definitely worth reserving. Less so the traditional culture of drunken violence.

I was thinking about that the other day, especially in relation to the World Cup.

I like the blind optimism in their team, the chewed fingernails during the pool matches, the flag waving and the pints of warm beer. And then the team goes out, the majority of the country sighs resignedly and gets on with their day.

Meanwhile, a minority throw their toys out of the pram and go on a drunken violent rampage.

There must be a metaphor in there somewhere. I wonder what a Venn diagram of hooligans vs Brexiters would look like?

                    Gammon ingredients found

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
