Basically business has put a gun to the government's head. If they don't do this the economy gets trashed.

Well it's always good to root out those who actually think they run the country.

The EU has no appetite to extend the exit process let alone. There are internal matter that must take priority, they've made that clear from the outside. If an extended process is assured then so should a hefty invoice from the EU to cover them extra expenses.

I know you work for the NHS, but who do you think pays for it?
He who pays the piper calls the tune.
        Hard Brexit now!

The problem is: The ones that are calling the tune also make it their goal to pay little or no tax. So actually if the UK wishes to draw the process out (demanded by business) then the decision should be borne out of taxation placed on the businesses that want that strategy.

Indeed. Taxes needed for employing EU administrators. The treaty states 2-years for a reason, to prevent protracted expenses processes.

It's like showing the cat the door before going to bed. You open it after it whines all evening to get out and then you have to use your foot.

I think we can all agree that this cabinet couldn't agree on what brewery to have a piss up in...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
