The EU has no appetite to extend the exit process let alone. There are internal matter that must take priority, they've made that clear from the outside. If an extended process is assured then so should a hefty invoice from the EU to cover them extra expenses.

The problem is: The ones that are calling the tune also make it their goal to pay little or no tax. So actually if the UK wishes to draw the process out (demanded by business) then the decision should be borne out of taxation placed on the businesses that want that strategy.

Indeed. Taxes needed for employing EU administrators. The treaty states 2-years for a reason, to prevent protracted expenses processes.
