As a message on Brexit, there is nothing to see here. The area voted strongly to Remain, so nothing has changed.
This was as much about giving Goldsmith a kicking as anything else.Comment

The by-election was called after Mr Goldsmith quit as a Tory MP in protest over plans to build a new runway at Heathrow airport.
However it swiftly became a vote about Britain's decision to leave the European Union"A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices," George OrwellComment

Added in with the actions of idiots like Goldsmith the Tory majority can end up on on a knife edge."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Worrying reminder for pro-Remain Labour candidates in Leave seats. Sleaford by-election will be interesting too. This will worry May in two ways. First, Maidenhead looks a lot like Richmond. Second, there has to be a non-trivial risk that UKIP will generate a coalition scenario if northern voters perceive backsliding on Brexit. In all scenarios, it looks very bad indeed for Labour. Interesting times!Comment

According to this estimate:

152 constituencies voted Remain (it wasn't organised according to constituencies so it isn't exact).
Come on Theresa. Give us a General Election. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment
