Yes we can. A porous EU, leaking like a sieve, and freedom of movement within the EU, indirectly means (while we're in the EU) uncontrolled immigration from outside the EU as well as from inside it.

No it doesn't. e.g. An Indian studying in Germany cannot enter the UK without a visa. We're not part of Schengen.
        Hard Brexit now!

You're becoming unhinged with your EU obsession.
We're leaving, it won't trouble you any more.
You'll have much more serious issues to worry about

A guy in an office I had a contract in had a work visa that allowed him to work in the UK but he couldn't go to Eire to visit. He then got a Schengen visa and was surprised to find he still couldn't go on holiday to Eire.

I think the loophole is to make it difficult for those trying to claim asylum moving from the UK to Eire when their application fails in the UK and vice versa.

which kind of proves that the borders are controlled, and whether the UK is in or out makes no difference, because Ireland simply takes over external EU border control.
              I'm alright Jack

Yes the whole argument about taking control over our own borders was total BS. The UK never lost that control by not joining Schengen
