I suspect this more to do with this being a pre-release edit that shouldn't have gone public yet. The only official version will be the one published on the HoL Committee's own website. No doubt all will become clear in time.
    Blog? What blog...?

Oh yes. I'm sure it will become as clear as any other piece of HMG regulation relating to contractors...

It's interesting to work through the whole set of evidence given (when you could read it). With one or two exceptions, the tenor was very much to separate the highly skilled contractors from the casual and temporary workers and those forced into going freelance by the (ex-)employer. However, since My Lords appear to be almost entirely ignorant of the freelance marketplace (apart from the Lady in the chair, who merely pretends to be ignorant so as to appear neutral), I have my doubts that the sensible voice will be heard.

          I agree.

There does appear to be a split of evidence for and against though.

The brollies are definitely pro ir35, in a vested interest way, whereas employers also are, but in a naive HR way.

I am disappointed so few contractors have made a submission.

Forgot to mention, the file has been moved. If you google the committe and evidence, its the fourth or fifth link down.

I beg to differ. At least 21,000 contractors and freelance workers have made a submission...

Lucky for them (and any other industries whose existence depends on IR35), HMRC probably sees things the same way.

The giant comments are hilarious in its bias.

If you had got them all to send in a letter that would have shown them!

                    Have you attended in person?

They read as if they were written by a 4 year old.
