What do YOU want from an Umbrella?

HI, i am doing some research into umbrella companies. Ignore composites and that lot.

I was wondering if you could tell me what you want from an umbrella company and for what sort of fee. Or maybe who you have been with in the past and what was good or bad about them.

Any information you give me would be valuable.

Cheers in advance for your help.

Simple - we need an ethical umbrella that sticks to the HMG rules, tells the truth, charges no more than a comparable accountant, pays on time, lets you pick it up and put it down on demand and is not going to go bust.

              Still wouldn't use one myself.
              Blog? What blog...?

My background is that i am an IT student at university and for my dissertation i am investigating the market of umbrella companies. I already have alot of horror stories about companies out there but i would like to know what contractors genuinly expect and for what price. basically what do you consider to be a fair exchange between yourself and the umbrella administrator.

Well Umbrellafella, i would like to be charged some where fair between £20-28
depending on what they offer. Ideally they would ofer a tranparent service where theye are no hidden charges, everything like proccessing expenses and insurance would be included in the price. everything would be upfront and the company would have a claen and honest image. Basically not prosperity 4
