Can you expense membership of professional bodies (CMI, AMBA etc) related purely to work? I'm assuming so, but thought it worth asking (and my accountant posts on here, so in theory, I am asking him!! )

Can you expense CMI membership?
I didn't say it was your ******* fault, I said I was blaming you! -
For someone that gave another poster some grief for not googling a very basic and simple question you don't half push it.....
Typing Expense Professional Bodies had the answer 3 times in the first 5 hits.
Even more lazy and thoughtless than the guy you gave some stick to.

Has it just become a free for all, where anyone can do it?
I mean.... Google - "can you expense professional bodies" - and you have NUMEROUS links that will help you, including one from the HMRC.
And seriously, I can't believe a contractor as seasoned as you supposedly are, can ask such a basic, newbie question.
Hey scooby... your bus is leaving.

You can claim a subscription, without it being a benefit in kind, if it's on List 3 (and the company pays it direct, rather than reimbursing you).......
