Yes, me too. If we can find out the low-life company that the UK now keeps, I think that would be excellent ammo for the campaign. Countries such as Our Dear Leader's North Korea, Putin's Russia and Mugabe's Zimbawe would all fit the bill just fine. Imagine that rogues' gallery with Gauke's portrait appended! And even if these prime examples of state repression and criminality do not feature in the famous five, then by inference, how low does that put the UK in the league table of democrarcy and legality?

Tax avoidance: HMRC could gain billions as court rules against 'artificial' scheme - Telegraph

Has anyone been in touch with Richard Evans? Or shall I email him?

All HMRC need to do is make scheme promoters responsible for the avoided tax and make it law that they have an insurance policy to cover a potential loss.

i.e. PWC advise me to join a scheme run by them It fails and therefore they are responsible for reimbursing me for my losses. An insurance policy held by them would ensure they can't run away without paying!

We would very quickly see these providers go away as they would struggle to get insurance.

Haven't you heard, ""HMRC has a strong track record of quickly and effectively challenging avoidance through the courts"

They unfortunately also have a track record of slowly and incompetently undermining the courts by lying under oath.

The UK has been going down the pan for a number of years now and our politicians have done little to stop it apart from seemingly lining their own pockets (expenses and all that) .... HMRC (as the post previously pointed out) seem to be able to manipulate the Courts decisions, they have crossed (no leaped) the thin line between being economical with the truth and blatant lies.

IMO Seeing where the UK fits with other regimes will do nothing more than depress the hell out of you even more.

We can't fix anything that we don't control, we are sucked in to vote in people to do that on our behalf.... those that seem only to be concerned with their own interest,

                Then why do it?

That Gauke needs a good slapping.

No, we just need the David Gauke with principles who was abducted by aliens to be returned.

I bet PWC are really pleased that they gave £22k to DG now.
