    Cater Allen are idiots!

Just checked my statement online and credit from last month has disappeared! And they don't know where its gone!

Luckily, I had a printout so I knew it should be there. Bit concerned when I logged in this morning to see I'd gone 10000E overdrawn last month!

Phoned them and they are completely useless to say the least...

You are the first person I have met with this opinion of them. I have used them for nigh on 10 years and found them nothing but excellent and pleased to help in all cases. You sure its not just you...

Crap happens with stuff from time to time. Most of us don't feel the need to post it on a public forum though.

Good customer service, but their online banking is terrible.

          WOSS

Used them since late 90's when the were still Robert Fleming & Co and never had a problem.

Two days before christmas my card got frauded (£290 of purchases from iTunes) and they sorted it out and refunded the money immediately and had replacement cards with me by 27th. Always been good as far as I'm concerned.

          Think it might be you.....

If that is the case why do public forums exist? I thought they exisiting to share both good and bad experiences?

Exactly. Why not point out a problem I experience? It might help someone decide whether to bank with them or not.

Yes, I know mistakes happen but, credits disappearing from accounts is a big one - not just reversed. Made even worse when I phoned them and they are trying to say it never existed in the first place. As if someone has manually deleted the entry from the statement.

Then they tell me it'll take 3-4 working days to investigate which is costing me money because I cant transfer it out to convert to sterling. And its my time having to phone them to sort this out.

Dont get me wrong - never had problems before. But this is a biggie this morning and they aint exactly falling over themselves to sort it out. Getting the 'computer says you didnt get credit on 16/2'.

WHS, whatever a bank does, it should be able to add and remove deposits and withdrawals correctly. I had an issue where they transferred double salary/dividends, they tried to say it was due to me cancelling them then starting them or some tulip.

I had 40k go missing (the account it was in was missing) so i called them up and it would appear that If you do not make any transactions for 6 months they assume the account is inactive and hide it, when i spoke to them to get it back the fella said if its inactive for 12 months its set to dormant and then its a hell of a job to get it reinstated

I have standing order payments set to every 4 months now, although to be honest i don't get any interest so its probably not worth having the second account anyway
