There are some restrictions though, so go careful HM Revenue & Customs: Gifts to charity made by companies

If I am interpreting the link correctly, I am not allowed to make a donation in return for advertising, for example. I don't know if I have misunderstood the link correctly or not.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

There are limits as to what you can get in return for a donation, as shown on the link. It depends on what you're getting in return, and the value of it.

Yes but note that Gift Aid comes into play when you make a personal donation - HMRC give the charity back the tax you paid earning that £50.

I cannot remember the details now, but I do know we worked it out as preferable to make my (fairly sizeable) donations personally - I tend to do this when I take a dividend.

Don't you have to have paid tax equivalent to that reclaimed? I took that to mean income tax, and since I pay no income tax, I've stopped gift aiding and started giving through the company.

To clarify, I am not looking to gain anything in return (tax benefits, advertising or anything) ....the donation itself will be small....abt £50 a month.....

I'll be donating to organizations like WWF, RSPCA, Orgs helping children in Africa etc....contributing £10 a month to each....

Is there anything i should be aware of before I set up a direct debit from my business account?

                    Inputs much appreciated.
