I think it's a good idea to raise an issue with the company first before posting it on public forums - you have not given them chance to look at the facts and respond to it.

I don't need to raise an issue with the company. I asked for some advice, i got some and I decided not to act on any of it.

I'm just discussing my views on their service worth in light of the recent 15% increase. Based on multiple things not just the differing accountants opinions/advice I think the service is no longer worth what they are charging for ME and MyCo.

You don't have to act on it, but making a complaint about company's service in a public forum without giving that company chance to address (or clarify) it is wrong IMHO.

If you do not like their prices then move, but if you had some issue with them you should have brought it to their attention first in my view.

where have I made a complaint? My point in this thread is about the value I think they are providing to me and due to a number of things my opinion on them has changed and I no longer feel
It's worth it. Price is not the only thing influencing my decision. Can you please get that into your thick head?

No need to get personal - all I said was that in my view checking issue with the company in question is fair as it gives them chance to fix it before publishing it in open forum.

I have no vested interest in SDJ or any other accountancy firm, just expressed my view.

Yep, I've had one of those letters too.

I never did get around to changing or attempting to do it myself like I was going to, but £132/month is starting to be steep imo for what I seem to get out of them. And please Malvolio no "a good accountant costs nothing" posts

Think I might be giving intouch a ring on Monday morning. A 15% rise is just a little too much to ask for at the moment imo.

£110 + VAT in letter received today. Do different people pay different fees? What's the differentiator?

Their web site has now been updated to show £110 + VAT. I queried it with my accountant who tells me everyone is paying the same. I guess Daniel was mistaken.

Don't you think I already know this ffs.... what I'm saying is that the advice I was given by an SJD employee goes against their policy of not recommending income splitting.

If a company has a policy of something then an employee should not be giving out advice that goes against that.

Seeing that there has been conflicting answers on the same subject that does not give me the peace of mind that AtW mentioned, which in turn doesn't make me think they are worth the new, higher fee.

If someone goes against the policy it might be because they are trying to help you specifically, not blindly follow a policy they think is wrong. That has its upsides.

My god, another increase, didn't SJD last increase their fee last Summer? Sounds like they are following In Touch with annual increases from now on....

Unfortunately Gareth Hughes no longer works for OrangeGenie and therefore we must assume that it isn't him.
