I'm curious as to how many contractor Ltd Co.s Hector manages to audit.

You'll get no useful info from this board, you'll be better asking over at the PCG where they know about such things...

That looks good, from the sample population 100% haven't been audited.
      I'm alright Jack

1995 we had the full compliance review. OR rather they started in 1995 and finished in 1998.

They had me bang to rights on one thing (which yielded about 8k). This was the result of a test case I was unaware of (claiming rent a room on the company office did alway seems a bit iffy I must admit ).

They also tried to hit me for about 13k for my wifes company car (trying to assess it to me as a second car. By some strange coincidence my wifes car benefit and salary was marginally under 8,500).

They also wanted to disallow all my expense for commuting to Paris and maintaining a flat there. This was about 80k.

After loads of correspondence providing more and more information they only yielded when my advisers said "sod off and give us a date for the commissioners".

What really pissed me off was:-

        - We offered the 8k immediately it was pointed out they had recently won a case on that subject.
        - I had to pay 3 years statutory interest to cover all their faffing about

I think you have to be very unlucky. HMRC's resources are stretched at the best of times so I can't seem them being that bothered with lowly contractors.
