          Asmg

          Hey There Guys

I guess I am little late but here goes..........ASMG appear OK and above board. The only real negative is that you get paid a minimal salary and have to wait 5-7 weeks for the bonus payments.

Just came across this forum trying to find info on ASMG, what a waste of time, 95% of irrelevant and 'funny' comments is there anyone that actually has useful advice on why not to use ASMG beyond 'the salesman was probably lying'

After a recommendation from someone actually using them I met with a representative. I have to say my suspicions were aroused as soon as they were pushy about a meeting but as I had a personal recommendation I went along.

Assuming he wasn't telling me blatant lies it looks interesting enough to look at it closer, the chambers they said provided the opinion on the structure check out, as does the member who provided the opinion.

Anyone got anything concrete, good or bad?

Since they don't publish details of their scheme and will ask you to sign an NDA about it before they tell you how it works, we paranoid types are just a little suspicious. It also seems to involve taking money offshore which is possibly not ideal, although there is no indication whatsoever that ASMG are anything other than honest.

The only real issue is not them, but that HMRC (and Gordon in particular) are taking an interest in all such tax mitigation operations at the moment and what is currently legal may not be in the next year or so and, just to make it really nasty, such changes can be made retrospectively to December 2004

It's your call and your money. By all means talk to them, but keep your eyes open - they are not the problem, HMRC is.

                    Thanks Malvolio,
The NDA did ring alarm bells, however some more surfing and this lot popped up http://www.dms-london.co.uk/ gave them a call and they told me all the same information that asmg did over the phone. Interestingly the breakdown they sent me is identical in layout to what asmg did, right down to the charts.

So assuming this structure is registered with the IR and Gordon decides to close it, how can they backdate to 2004 if it's been registered with them? I can't beleive thats possible so the argument must hinge on whether it is actually registered/approved whatever with the IR, anyone know how to confirm that with the IR?

                    RS.

It is possible. Read the corresponding budget's Finance Bill if you don't believe it.
