I have decided to stick with Uptons. They have quite a few other qualified staff working there and if anything things seem to be improving in my experience. Accounts aren't rocket science and the company is bigger than one man (even though I still don't believe what he's been accused of).Comment

There have been a lot of rumours circulating about the current situation with Upton Accountants and we hope this post will clear up some of these and give some information to their clients.
We were first made aware of the police investigation into Upton Accountants, specifically Darren Upton, in the first week of April this year. It is true that Darren is under investigation by the Economic Crime Unit in Bradford. He was initially arrested and bailed but as the investigation continued he was re-arrested at the end of June and is currently remanded in custody awaiting his trial, the date of which will be decided in August. He may make an application to be released on bail in the meantime.
It is likely to be several months before the case reaches crown court and this is why we are asking that no specifics of the case are posted on the forum so as not to prejudice the case.
If you are a client and are experiencing problems then we urge you to contact them to make sure your accounts and returns are filed on time. As a company director you are ultimately responsible for your company so it is up to you to make sure that accounts are filed containing the correct information and on time.
Please keep your discussions on this thread solely about the levels of support or problems regarding their services.
Has anyone actually asked Upton for details if their indemnity insurance and started court proceedings for bad work?
I think that there Upton were not part of any regulatory body but surely you should be able to claim for damages as part of the indemnity insurance?
Here are examples of claims http://piexpert.co.uk/_Acct_Claims_ExamplesLast edited by DeludedAussie; 16 July 2011, 07:45.Comment

I should add I noticed that you have only come on to post about Uptons. While it's allowed, it looks suspicious."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Nixons were prompt till i joined but no replies to 2 emails in the last few days Hopefully, going by the praise for them in this forum, this is just an exception and it will be a smooth transition.. and not from the frying pan to the fire!!Comment
